Moroccan riads ‘guesthouses’ have to collect 2 taxes upon their guests:
- Tourism Promotion Tax (TPT): the amount of the tax depends on the riad category, 11.00 dirhams per people per night for Talaa 12. That tax is collected by the riads and integrally put back into Morocco National Tourist Office.
- City Tax (from January 2008): like the hotels and restaurants, ‘guesthouses’ must now collect the City tax. The amount of the City tax is 17.00 dirhams per people (older than 12 y-o) and per night for Talaa 12.
Reservation and cancellation policies of the riad
If clients wish to pay their room charges with a credit card they will be subject to a 5% service fee. This service fee does not apply to the guarantee deposit paid at the time of booking and is only applicable to credit card payments made directly to the property.
In the event of a reservation cancellation, the Talaa 12 will apply the following cancellation policy and will charge any applicable fees to the client credit card used during the reservation process :
-Cancellations received 21-30 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 11-20 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 0-10 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room costs.
